A Home for Respect
For the first time, Germany hosted the Invictus Games—an international sporting competition for physically and emotionally injured soldiers and veterans, previously held in countries like the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Australia. The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, and still under his patronage, are far more than just a sports event. They are a powerful symbol of strength, respect, and inclusion. Our responsibility as the lead agency was to embody these values through holistic event design at the Merkur Spiel Arena and the Nations Home. With the concept “A Home for Respect,” we created an environment that provided athletes, their families, friends, and the public with a sustainable and inclusive experience, bringing the core values of the Invictus Games to life.
Uniting Through Sport – A Unique Event with Global Impact
The Invictus Games united sports and community in an event that inspired people around the world. Celebrated in countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Australia, more than 500 wounded soldiers and veterans from 21 nations gathered in Düsseldorf to demonstrate their strength in a unique community experience. The symbolic course of the Rhine influenced the set design and created a connection between the athletes and the city. The venues provided space for open exchange and made the athletes feel truly “at home.”
“The Invictus Games are a powerful symbol of strength and unity. With our concept ‘A Home for Respect,’ we created a platform that brings athletes, families, and the public together, making these values truly tangible. The international significance of this event and the strong support of Prince Harry make it truly exceptional.”
